I am the Dairy Queen. Just to prove it, I bought this shirt...I couldn't resist! For those of you who read my last post, the last week has had a few rough-goings. J has been going through a big growth spurt, and my milk has been lagging behind. I have been bound and determined to do everything I can to bring it back up. It is starting to catch up, thanks to some good time and a few good tips from friends and a lactation consultant. I am eating fresh oatmeal with fruit every morning for breakfast, and taking an herbal supplement with fenugreek and blessed thistle. I just started the herbal stuff yesterday, so I haven't really noticed a huge difference with that yet, but the oatmeal alone has been a miracle food. It, apparently, is just what my body needs to kickstart my metabolism for the day. We plow through each day, some good times and some not-so-good ones, but we are making it. I have been supplementing some with formula mixed with mama's milk, and that seems to make J a happy camper.
On another good note, J has been sleeping through the night 3 days in a row now. We lay him down around 10 pm and are waking up at 6-6:30. I am one hap, hap, happy mama! I think I can get used to sleeping again. Thanks for caring enough to read about each little milestone. Makes it fun knowing there are so many of my girlfriends on the same journey we are and so many mamas who have done the same thing. Happy Wednesday! Love, J,K,&J
