This weekend was the first all ranks ball for John's battalion, hosted at the Gates Four Country Clubhouse in a beautiful part of suburban Fayetteville. It was the most intimate of the dozen or so balls we've been to in our day and, might I add, one of the most fun. Being that it was so small (200 vs. the normal 2,000) we were able to have it in a beautiful, cozy venue and mingle with people we actually know and with whom John works. We were treated with a performance by the 82nd Airborne All American Choir who performed popular pop and country hits, as well as some cadences and patriotic songs. We also had the opportunity to meet a retired Lt. General (3 stars people!) and hear him speak for a while about his day in the military. With 35 years of active duty, you can imagine he has a few stories to tell! We had a lot of fun getting to know some new friends, as well as rub elbows with some of the old. Yep, it went down in the books as one of the most fun at a military ball to date. Thanks 188th BSB!
