We're pregnant!!!

I had my first doctor's appointment today and I measured at 9 1/2 weeks.  Baby Germanceri, who I think is a boy (Kris), was very active on the sonogram today and we determined that he/she looked almost like a gummy bear.  We are very excited and know our families are, too!  Baby will coming to a hospital near you around May 3.

Today is the day before my 1^st day of my 4^th year of teaching.  I had an open house for parents and came home late.  John came home even later after football practice on Ft. Bragg at 8:30 p.m.   He asked me, “Are you pregnant?”  I suspiciously asked, “Why did you ask that?”  He insisted he just got the feeling today and prayed God would remind him to ask me when he got home.  I suffer from a paranoia that I am always pregnant anyway, and I had one pregnancy test left in the cupboard so I said, “I’m going to take one right now.” 

 About 30 seconds later I screamed “John!” and he came into the bathroom thinking that it was a joke.  By that time my hands were already over my mouth. 

 We quickly grabbed 2 waters and ran to Food Lion down the road for more pregnancy tests.  As we drove, our dog Chula in my lap, I thought of all the signals my body was telling me I was pregnant.  I have had stomach cramps for about 2 weeks, headaches for even longer, constipation, fatigue, and the list goes on.  It’s no wonder I didn’t think it sooner.  All those times I thought I was pregnant and wrong, this time I had no idea.  But I did, does that make sense?

 I didn’t need to take another test, but I did anyway.  Sure enough, another plus sign.
